Lekwungen Traditional Dancers are a dance group from the Songhees Nation and will share a performance of traditional songs and dances. Started over 40 years ago, the group has been going strong for many years and performs at schools, festivals, parades, private events and all levels of government including the last two Royal Tours.
Slim Sandy and the Hillbilly Boppers play a mix of old time country music, western swing and rockabilly, from the 30’s to the 50’s. Slim sings, plays guitar and harmonica, joined by Willa Mae on vocals, Johnny Ackerman on bass, and Soda Pop on drums. They have performed their rockin’ hillbilly boogie at festivals like Rockin Race Jamboree in Spain in 2024 and Good Rocking Tonight in France in 2023.
Dripping Fins is a young queer led pop punk group ready to rock the house down. For 3 years they’ve been in the Victoria scene playing bar shows, festivals, even rooftops! Dripping Fins’ high energy show brings with it epic harmonies, shredding guitar solos and a galactic synth twist that keeps people dancing!
The West Coast Soul Collective is an exciting and dynamic band of Vancouver Island’s best young musicians, playing high-energy Funk, Soul, Pop and more! Blending the best of youthful energy and professional experience, this group is made up of top-call musicians – many who are current students and recent graduates of some of North America’s top music institutions, such as Berklee College, McGill University, and Humber College. They’ve had the pleasure of playing stages such as the TD International JazzFest, the Victoria Dragon Boat Festival, and the Government House.
Poncho Ybf is a Ghanaian-born singer, songwriter, and performer based on Vancouver Island, Canada. Blending Afrobeats with pop, hip-hop, and influences from highlife, dancehall, and amapiano, his sound bridges African and Caribbean styles with a modern global edge.
Since moving to Canada in 2022, Poncho Ybf has quickly made an impact with his debut EP BACKBOYINFRONT (2023), gaining radio support, chart success on CFUV, and recognition as MusicBC’s Spotlight Artist of the Week. Known for his energetic performances, he has appeared at festivals such as Rifflandia , Phillips Backyard and others.
BC Hydro Interactive Stage
Join our VWCA Belly Dancing instructor for an interactive Belly Dance Demonstration!
Belly dance originates from the Middle East in both folkloric and elegant stage forms, and is now taught and performed all over the world. People are drawn to the music, shimmies and body isolations that are unique to this beautiful cultural tradition.
Join Fierce and Henrietta for an exciting Drag Show at Vic West Fest!
Fierce shimmies his shoulders to all sorts of opportunities, ranging from Hosting on large Pride stages to fun story times, Fierce started drag 5 years ago in the Okanagan before setting sail to the Victoria scene. Since arriving in 2022, he lights up the stage with his sass, class and a whole lot of… heart. When you see that Fierce Brosnan is on the list- you’ve got a good time guarantee.
Henrietta made name for herself in the Victoria drag scene since her humble roots in 2015; where she ran screaming into, now gone, queer venues with enthusiasm and flailing limbs. She had dubbed herself the “Self proclaimed queen of the people” and refuses to hear her self described otherwise. An assault on the senses, Henny often tantalizes or terrifies her audiences (often both) with a non apologetic approach to hosting and genuinely just wants everyone to have a good time!
Vic Westers, we know how much you love dogs. We’ve seen you in Banfield playing with your besties!
