Get Growing – SUMMER EDITION- 8 August 2025

free“The Get Growing, Victoria! program supports communities in need through partnerships with non-profit organizations. This City of Victoria program helps distribute seedlings and soil-building materials to residents who face barriers to growing their own food.
The seedlings are grown in the City nursery in Beacon Hill Park and distributed in partnership with community organizations. Soil-building materials are generated through Parks operations. The program has been in operation since 2020. Each year, the City distributes approximately 100,000 seedlings and delivers over 700 cubic yards of soil-building materials in partnership with 67 organizations.”

The Vic West Community Centre is proud to again be one such partner organization! The Spring edition on May 16th saw over 240 families benefit from the free seedlings.
The Summer edition is due to take place Friday August 8th, 10:30am.
