Music, art and dance are at the heart of Vic West Fest!
Live performances on the Nalu Homes Mainstage will showcase the music, movement and creativity of Vic West. Emceed by the talented CBC Radio Host Rohit Joseph, the event will open with a Songhees Elder Territory Welcome and a performance by the Lekwungen Traditional Dancers. Festival goers will experience the dynamic, youthful energy of the West Coast Soul Collective, the rocking harmonies of queer-led, pop punk group the Dripping Fins, a flash to the past with the swinging hillbilly jazz of Slim Sandy and the Hillbilly Boppers, and move to the high-energy West African rhythms of Poncho YBF.
The BC Hydro Interactive Stage will offer community members a chance to sample some of our centers best programming and participate in all-ages entertainment. Join a Soca Fit or Belly Dance demo and move your body or find your flow with Tai Chi. Family members of any age will enjoy the fan-favourite Dog Show and new this year – Drag Storytime!
Throughout the festival you find roaming puppets, mesmerizing bubbles and volunteers tempting you to join our 50/50 draw. Don’t forget to check out the VWCA Food Security Plant Sale and VI Paddle’s Dragon Boat Experiences.
Our Food Truck Street, Point Hope Community Fair, Spinnaker’s Drinks Court, Aryze Bike Valet, and Kids’ Zone will be open from 12-6pm. Last call for drinks will be at 5:30pm, and all bikes must be collected by 6pm.
