Vic West Demonstration Boulevard Garden

Build a Boulevard Garden!

Are you looking for a place to grow your own food or pollinator plants? Look to the boulevard!
Gardening on boulevards is allowed in the City of Victoria. Boulevard gardens can help you gain better access to fresh food, spend more time outdoors, and get to know your neighbours. Check out the Boulevard Gardens for more details and the City’s Boulevard Garden Guidelines.
The Vic West Food Security Collective has created these easy how-to instructions to help you build a DIY garden box.
You can also see this box ‘live’ at our demonstration boulevard gardens on Raynor Street (across from Highpoint Community Church) and Edward Street (adjacent to Mary Street). Look for the DIY Boulevard Garden Sign.
Watch the Food Security Collective Team build the Raynor Street box.
Contact us at foodsecurity@victoriawest.ca if you have any questions. And send us a photo of your boulevard garden…we would love to see it!
