This introduction to beekeeping offers participants theory and practical field experience. Curriculum includes: history of beekeeping; the honeybee society; honeybee physiology and health; the hive; getting started; hands on demonstration with beekeeping equipment; honeybee products; Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter management; integrated pest management; harvesting and marketing; and field day handling live bees.
Taught by Barry Denluck, a beekeeper in Victoria for 15 years, accredited Province of BC Bee Master and BCHPA certified instructor. $25 materials fee payable to instructor at first class.
